The award has allowed Identec to develop the next stage in the development
of its highly acclaimed electronic identification systems. A necessary part
of Identec's system is that a Radio "Field" is produced, in which
a tag has its identity deduced using a patented dialogue between reader and
tag. The natural evolution of this market has been towards larger fields which
easily overlap both vertically (in multi-storey buildings) and horizontally
(on the same floor). Such overlapping fields cause the tag devices not to be
read. This used to limit our market in multi-storey, multi-user buildings. A
new range of tags and readers has been developed in which:
- Every floor in a multi-story building can have separate independent Identec
systems.
- All tags simultaneously present in an area of overlapping fields can be
identified.
- Tag detection speeds and reading range are not reduced.
- There is no physical connection to synchronise the search fields
