Identec Ltd, manufacturers of the Cryptag® Census® range of hands free RF tags and readers for both personnel and articles, have collaborated with Access Control Services Ltd of Greenhithe, Kent, manufacturers of the PLAN range of access control hardware and software, to develop a system capable of subliminally monitoring people and product movements.

The fast multiple reading (anti-clash) Census patented technology, with direction sensing, is fully utilised by the PLAN hardware, with the versatile software package enabling tag matching to enable visitor buddying, or asset authorisation of one or more products by tagged staff members.

Asset violation alarms are generated if tags are detected without an authorised individual present. Product photos can be added to assist security staff to determine which article has been detected.

The same package enables articles to be tracked by their last known location.

A full audit of movements and alarm activities is standard and the flexible software permits full English descriptions to be set against each unique tag number.

Hand held readers are available to assist in product identification
and for use in an annual stock audit.
