Our sponsorship of BTCC driver Ronan Pearson aligns with the company's commitment to excellence and cutting-edge technology.
We are once again proudly sponsoring Ronan Pearson, a dynamic and promising motor racing driver in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) for the upcoming 2024 season.
"I've been a BTCC fan for years, so being part of the EXCELR8 team in 2023 was a big deal. But it's not just about me. Partnering with Ronan Pearson for race day VIP hospitality has opened up great opportunities. It's allowed us to chat with both new and existing clients. Partner days have also been fantastic for talking to sponsors, discussing sales opportunities, and boosting our brand. Our customers have loved the garage tours, grid walks, drivers' Q&A sessions, and top-notch hospitality. They've thanked us for giving them an exceptional day out,” said MD, Gary Vasey.
"The dedication and pursuit of perfection from the entire team have been remarkable. From managers to drivers, mechanics, and the hospitality crew, they're like a close-knit family. They're always ready to help, and nothing is too much trouble. This is something we also value at Identec, as we heavily invest in our industry-leading technology for a global market. Thanks to the success we've had in 2023 we're very pleased to have secured sponsorship for the entire 2024 season."
After sponsoring the rookie driver in the latter part of his 2023 season, the partnership between Identec and Ronan Pearson will now support his BTCC 2024 season starting this April. In 2023, Ronan Pearson made his BTCC debut as a part of EXCELR8 Motorsport’s line-up, where his contract has been extended for another two seasons.
As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation and performance in RFID technology, the collaboration with Ronan Pearson aligns with the company's commitment to excellence and cutting-edge technology. RFID technology is commonly and increasingly used in motorsport, to enhance efficiency, safety, and overall race experience, and is applied in BTCC to validate tyre allocation over a race weekend and to ensure cars do not jump the start.
"We are thrilled to continue this exciting journey with Ronan. This partnership symbolises our commitment to pushing boundaries, both on and off the racetrack," said Gary Vasey, Managing Director at Identec Limited.
"As an RFID manufacturer, we see motorsports as an ideal platform to showcase the precision and performance that defines our brand. Ronan is an exceptional talent, and we are confident that this partnership will drive success for both parties."
“Last year we approached this sponsorship as a supportive partnership as much as we could. There’s not much we can teach Ronan about driving, but we can support his progress and help him achieve his goals. Just like when we work with our customers and clients, focusing on how we can help them meet and exceed their objectives and overcome business challenges, whilst aligning with their values.”
“It’s also not just about the technology but the people too. The race days have provided a perfect opportunity to increase our brand awareness both at the track and via its ITV4 coverage, they have opened new business opportunities and partnerships, and have helped us to renew and invigorate existing business relationships, and we look forward to building on this is 2024.”
The collaboration will see Ronan Pearson proudly donning the Identec Limited logo on his race car throughout the season. The partnership will extend beyond the track, featuring joint marketing initiatives, corporate events, and unique opportunities for Identec's clients and partners to experience the excitement of motorsports firsthand.
Ronan Pearson expressed excitement about continuing the partnership, stating, "I am honoured to be associated with Identec Limited, a company that shares my passion for excellence and innovation. I am eager to represent them on the track again and contribute to our joint success and make this collaboration a winning combination both on and off the circuit."
Now 22, Ronan made the move up into the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at the start of the 2023 campaign on the back of a successful three-year stint in the supporting Mini Challenge where he scored multiple race wins. He is recognised for his skills and achievements on the track, and embodies the qualities that Identec values: precision, speed, plus a relentless pursuit of quality.
